Liquid Facelift

Liquid Facelift

Dermal fillers have revolutionized how we think about anti-aging procedures. These innovative injectables don’t just treat signs of aging with incredible precision, but they also allow patients to enjoy long-lasting results with no downtime or recovery period. One treatment in particular, the liquid facelift, combines the most remarkable dermal fillers to offer exquisite rejuvenation for patients that don’t want to undergo a surgical procedure.

Anti-aging treatments like lifting jowls, contouring sagging cheeks, smoothing out nasolabial folds, and softening marionette lines are all possible with the liquid facelift.

Because your noninvasive procedure can be fully customized, an endless combination of dermal fillers can be used. Each treatment will be personalized based your aesthetic goals and your facial anatomy so that you can achieve the right results. More importantly, your procedure will be performed by someone with the artistry and skill to create natural-looking, subtle results.

Renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Matt Hershcovitch performs all his liquid facelifts himself, so patients can rest assured that their treatment is being administered by a true expert in facial rejuvenation. Because of Dr. Hershcovitch’s experience with facial anatomy and his extensive knowledge of facial aesthetics, he knows how to avoid common pitfalls: “duck lips,” faces that look overly full, and contours that look exaggerated.

For men that want to lift sagging skin without the hassle of surgery, Dr. Hershcovitch can administer treatment in way that allows men to retain chiseled, masculine features.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

A liquid facelift incorporates injectables composed of a smooth, soft gel. They’re typically made out of hyaluronic acid, a sugar that’s naturally found in the body. Hyaluronic acid is also responsible for keeping the skin nourished and hydrated, but it’s gradually depleted as we age. Dermal fillers work by volumizing the treatment area, whether they’re smoothing out deep wrinkles or lifting areas that have sagged. Over time, the fillers are safely absorbed by the body.

Depending on their formula, each filler has a different longevity. The hyaluronic acid fillers are easily reversible; with the injection of an enzyme, the results can be undone.

Restylane® belongs to a diverse line of fillers. Restylane® has a smooth, soft gel that creates natural-looking results while being strong enough to lift moderate wrinkles like nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

This hyaluronic acid is strong enough to lift the cheeks and restore fullness to the face, but it can also treat moderate to severe nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Restylane® Lyft can last for up to a year.

This versatile filler can be used for anything from marionette lines, nasolabial folds, to plumping the lips. Juvederm® is developed using Hylacross™ technology, a manufacturing technique that creates highly-cross linked hyaluronic acid particles. This gives the Juvederm® gel a soft, malleable quality, so its results are as natural as possible, while allowing it to be durable enough to last for 4-6 months.

Juvederm® Voluma XC is a hyaluronic acid filler that’s designed to add volume to gaunt, hollowed cheeks. Thanks to a sturdy formula, Voluma can lift large areas like the cheeks to contour and volumize the face. Voluma can also last a remarkable two years.

This versatile hyaluronic acid filler is excellent for treating moderate to severe marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and smoker’s lines, the small vertical wrinkles that appear on the upper lip. Depending on where it’s used, Belotero® can last for an average of 6 months.

Radiesse® is a smooth gel filler that also has calcium microspheres in the formula. That means that while you can enjoy an instant lift with Radiesse®, the calcium microspheres get to work by stimulating collagen rebuilding. Even long after the filler has been absorbed by the body, your skin will be left with a stronger collagen matrix. Because of its unique formula, Radiesse® has been known to last for up to two years.

How Your Liquid Facelift Is Performed

Dr. Hershcovitch will thoroughly analyze your facial anatomy and the areas you want to treat before making a detailed plan for the liquid facelift. Each injection will be strategically placed to create the most natural-looking outcomes and the most long-lasting results.

Before addressing other areas, Dr. Hershcovitch will typically accentuate the cheekbones. Dermal fillers like Radiesse that have particles in their formula do have a risk of clumping or forming irregularities, so Dr. Hershcovitch takes care to avoid using these in the lips or around the eyes. All in all, the liquid facelift takes less than an hour to perform, but patients can enjoy their results for months at time. The longevity of treatment will depend on the types of fillers used, but Dr. Hershcovitch advises patients to return to the office for a touch-up after a few months.

What the Recovery Is Like for a Liquid Facelift

There is little to no downtime, as the procedure is completely nonsurgical. After the treatment, patients can return to work or their daily activities. There are some mild slight effects: swelling, soreness, bruising, and bleeding. These side effects are only temporary and usually dissipate after a few days.
